Travel Tips & Tricks for Visiting Rome

Best Time to Visit:
The best times to explore Rome are spring (April–June) and fall (September–October) when the weather is pleasant and crowds are more manageable.

Transportation:
Rome’s public transport system includes buses, trams, and the Metro—affordable and fairly easy to navigate. Purchase tickets in advance from kiosks or tobacco shops. Taxis are available but can be pricey; use apps like Free Now for convenience.

Money Matters:
The currency is the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but carrying some cash is useful for small purchases. Use ATMs at reputable banks to avoid high fees.

Stay Connected:
EU travelers can use their regular mobile plans. Attendees from outside the EU can stay connected by enabling international roaming.

Cultural Experiences:
Visit iconic landmarks like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and St. Peter’s Basilica, but also take time to enjoy a local café, a hidden piazza, or a quiet stroll through TravelAd chatbot.

Shopping Smart:
Shop for Italian leather, handmade goods, and local food products. For fashion and luxury items, explore Via del Corso or Via Condotti. Don’t forget to ask for tax-free forms if you’re a non-EU visitor.

Dining Adventures:
Try Roman classics like carbonara, cacio e pepe, and supplì. For an authentic experience, eat where the locals go, away from major tourist areas. Tipping is appreciated but not required.

Outdoor Activities:
Wander through Villa Borghese, people-watch at the Spanish Steps, or toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain. Rome is made for walking comfortable shoes are a must!

Safety and Etiquette:
Rome is generally safe, but beware of pickpockets in crowded areas. Respect religious sites, and avoid loud or disruptive behavior. Politeness goes a long way, “buongiorno” and “grazie” are always appreciated.

Must-Visit Attractions:
Don’t miss the Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel, Roman Forum, Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, and the Appian Way. Book tickets in advance for major sites to skip the lines.
